Here in part 10 you’ll find out why everything you’ve read about O.B.E vibrations in books is wrong and you’ll find out the 3 easiest ways to tell how close you are to an O.B.E.
The Top 3 Signals To Tell How Close You Are To An OBE
If you’ve never done an O.B.E before, it’s extremely difficult to know if you’re making any progress until you’re actually already out of your body or in a lucid dream. What you need are easy to detect signals that you can use like road signs to tell you how close you are to succeeding. In this section we’ll cover the top 3 most common road signs. These are:
1 – The sleep paralysis wave
2 – Pre O.B.E rushing noises
3 – Vibrations
Sleep Paralysis Wave: Your Primary Signal
We already covered the sleep paralysis wave in Lucidology 101 part 2. Essentially when your body shuts itself down in sleep paralysis you’ll feel something like a heavy lead blanket feeling being laid on your body. This feeling is unmistakable and a sign that you’re very close to success and you can use the exit techniques we’ll cover in part 12 to turn the paralysis into an O.B.E.
Pre-O.B.E. Rushing Noises: The Second Most Frequent Signal
The second road sign to watch for are pre-O.B.E rushing noises. When you tune in between stations on a radio you get the sound of random static and
white noise. Once you’re back on a station again things come in clearly. It’s the same thing with O.B.E.s. You start out completely focused in your normal waking environment and as you drop into a subconscious focus you pass through a kind of no man’s land where you’re not really conscious and you’re not really subconscious.
Rushing Noises Can Sound Like A Tornado Or Freight Train
When you’re tuned to that no-man’s land frequency you hear rushing noises that sound like random static or a train rushing by.
Vibrations: The Most Famous Progress Signal
About the same time you hear rushing noises you may feel what are called O.B.E vibrations. Vibrations are probably the most famous phenomenon associated with O.B.E.s and they’re also the effect that has the most misconceptions. Almost everything to be found in books on O.B.E.s about vibrations is simply wrong and so this is a place where a lot of people get stuck. They reach the vibration stage and then get hung up because they use an ineffective method from bad advice they read in a book.
The 3 Critical Vibrations Misconceptions
The 3 misconceptions about vibrations are:
1.) What they are
2.) What they mean
3.) How to use them.
What Vibrations Are Not
Here’s what vibrations are not. Vibrations are not a subjective kind of thing where you it’s like you’re “feeling the vibes, man, far out!”. Vibrations are much more mundane than that.
What Are Vibrations Like?
If you make a VVVVV sound, the feeling of vibrations in your lips is very similar to the feeling of vibrations that often appear along with medium stages of paralysis. Sometimes the vibrations can been extremely strong and feel like electricity, other times they are entirely absent. It’s very rare for vibrations to be strong enough to be painful, usually they just feel like a harmless buzzing in your head and chest area.
Types Of O.B.E Vibrations
However sometimes they can go throughout your entire body. These can be incredibly loud and feel like you’re holding on to a chain saw. A lot of people report feeling them in the spine. In one case I woke up into an O.B.E in my bed and it sounded exactly like there was someone with a hedge trimmer outside my window. I realized it was because I had off the chart vibrations that were coming from what I later found to be the L1 lumbar vertebrae in my lower back. I used deep breathing to return myself from the O.B.E because I was running more energy than what seemed safe.
Most O.B.E Vibrations Are Harmless
That was a very unusual experience and most of the time you actually won’t have any vibrations at all and if you do it’s no more powerful than the feeling of a vibrating cell phone.
The basic thing to know is that once you’ve had vibrations, you will know it. There won’t be any question in your mind about it because it’s just a buzzing feeling and noise.
Misconception #2: What O.B.E Vibrations Mean
The second misconception is that most books will tell you that when you have vibrations you’re ready to exit into the O.B.E. This is completely the polar opposite of reality. Vibrations mean that you are NOT ready to exit and here’s why.
Double Energy From Two Signals
Physical and nonphysical awarenesses are both types of signals that you focus on. During the middle stage of an O.B.E exit you’re making the transition from one to the other and you experience both physical and nonphysical signals. These signals have energy. When you sum both of these signals together you pass through a phase where you’re running double the amount of energy you normally would.
Double Energy Can Result In Intermodulation Distortion
If this energy is more than your system can comfortably handle, you get distortion. The big fancy signal processing name for this is intermodulation distortion. The name is not so important as the fact that this energy hump does not go on forever, it comes and then goes and this is critical to understanding how to deal with vibrations.
Vibrations Mean You’re Not Ready To Exit: Wait For “The Quiet Zone”
Because the excess energy hump comes and goes, you get a ‘quiet zone’ once you’ve focused completely out of physical focus and in to nonphysical focus. So it looks like this: you start out in physical focus with no vibes. You relax into a near O.B.E and get light vibes. You relax almost to the point of separation and get majorly heavy vibes. This is where most people screw it up because of the bad advice in books. The trick is to simply continue to relax deeper and deeper past the vibrations until the vibes have smoothed out completely. Once you’re in the quiet zone after the vibes, that’s how you know you’ve completely shifted into the O.B.E.
Unbalanced Tires Analogy
The energy hump is like a truck I used to have with unbalanced tires. When it got up to 45 MPH it would start vibrating the entire truck. At 55 MPH it would smooth out again. The range of 45 to 55 MPH was a transition range that caused the tires to vibrate with each other. Pre O.B.E. rushing noises and vibrations are the same thing: you’re coming in and out of phase with two different physical and nonphysical signals.
What About Vibrationless O.B.E.s?
Keep in mind that the vibrations only happen when the total energy goes beyond what your nonphysical body is capable of conducting. The more O.B.E.s you do, the more energy you can run without problems and the less vibrations you’ll have. Eventually almost all your O.B.E.s will be vibration-free.
Vibrationless O.B.E.s
You’ll go from waking awareness, with no vibes, all the way to the O.B.E with no vibes which means you’ll have to rely on other signals that we’ll cover later to tell if you’re in the O.B.E. The up side to this is that vibrationless O.B.E.s are much brighter and clearer than O.B.E.s where you have to punch through massive vibrations.
Why Vibrationless O.B.E.s Are Brighter And Clearer
Why would that be? In a chainsaw, the noise is caused by friction. Vibrations are a form of noise, so vibrations are a form of friction. Friction is waste of energy. Chainsaw noise is a waste of physical energy and so vibrations are a waste of nonphysical energy.
When you’re in vibrations you’re wasting energy so it’s a state you want to relax through as quickly as possible.
Misconception #3: What To Do With Vibrations
The next misconception is what to do once you’re in vibrations. For instance, Robert Monroe wrote that you should try to ‘sweep’ the vibrations up and down your body before separating. Is this good advice or not?
Relaxation Is The Only Solution
The only way to reduce vibrations is to reduce the pressure that causes friction and that means relaxing.
If you reach vibrations and then try to do something, whether it’s running the vibrations up and down your body or anything else, then the one thing you’re NOT doing is relaxing. And relaxing is exactly the one thing that you need to do when you have vibrations because only way to release the friction is to relax. No other solution will work.
This is why vibrations are a major obstacle for more OBEers, because when they try to do something, anything, they are unable to simply relax into the quiet zone.
Definitely do NOT try to force your way out when you’re in the middle of vibrations. You’ll almost certainly just get pulled right back into your body since you haven’t yet matched up with a nonphysical focus.
The “How Close To An O.B.E? Meter”: Relax Through Vibrations
Even if you do manage to muscle your way out, you’ll have spent so much energy on the exit that the resulting O.B.E will probably be so dark and low energy that you’ll just stagger around and not be able to do anything fun anyway. It’s far better to relax through vibrations into the quiet zone and then slip out of body effortlessly.
The Sneaky Loop Hole: Photographic Trance
By the way, there is a sneaky loop hole that allows you to cheat so you can do O.B.E.s even when you’re in the middle of vibrations. We’ll cover this sneaky cheat in Lucidology 102 part 3. The trick is to enter something called a photographic trance which allow you to have O.B.E.s at much lighter levels of trance so you don’t have to be in full sleep paralysis to separate.
Exiting Even In The Middle Of Vibrations
This loophole also opens the door to a technique called ‘trance recycling’ . Trance recycling allows you to have a dozen or more O.B.E.s in a row and quickly rack up a massive number of O.B.E.s in a single session. To find out more about Lucidology 102, visit www.Lucidology.com
Because many O.B.E.s are completely vibrationless, you need several other road signs to tell how close you are to success. In the next section we’ll cover the 5 crucial progress signals to tell how close you are to an O.B.E.

I never had OBE’s until last year Spring when I started college… I remember it vividly, I was floating few inches away from my ceiling, it was even more vivid because my room didn’t have curtain so the sun peered through and I noticed everythin in my room… After that I kept getting them seldomy during fall semester by a sinking feeling or a floating feeling… And just today I kept hearing buzzing noises and I literally felt myself(my soul) sat up while I noticed my body was lying down… After that I just fell asleep
Oh this makes so much sense. I have been practicing lucid dreaming since I was in my teens. I have very vivid dreams. And when they are nightmares, they are horrifying. I started down a bad path of using NyQuil at bed. It prevented me from dreaming, It was then I picked up a book about lucid dreaming. Being able to control my dreams was an amazing thing for me. I had to power to see how they panned out knowing all along it was just a dream or I could have fun with it. Just recently I have noticed I’ve been having this “vibration” at night. It’s happened quite a few times. Not knowing what it was, I happened to stumble here. And this makes so much sense to me. I guess since I can already do lucid dreaming, maybe my sleeping self wants to go to the next level and have an O.B.E. Now I know for the future, that if I feel those vibrations again to just relax and bring myself deeper and see where it takes me. Thanks for your article. :-)
I’ve been practicing astral projection with no success for a while. After another failed guided meditation at 11am, I fell asleep. For the next three hours I found myself slipping in and out of consciousness, having sleep paralysis three times in a row. After struggling out of the first one, I found myself easily falling back into it simply by relaxing. And so I purposely did, twice. There was a new unfamiliar sensation though, as if wind was rushing against my ear, making this loud gusting noise. I didnt exactly feel vibrations, but I heard them, and I found the frequency getting faster the more I relaxed. I recognized these things as the stuff I had read when researching obe’s, but unfortunately my fear prevented me from carrying out the ‘trip’. Now I’m just regretful, but hopefully ill get close again.
lucid in a dream, 800 hours of previous hemisynce
raised steel railway running above deserted street, it is dusk, someone is walking away from me down the tracks as if inspecting the rail, he kicks a switch section cannot hear what he says, I think, why he is doing that there is nothing wrong with the rail switch and it is not his job, I try to clib up the supporting structure, it is cold 3/4″ steel plate with holes cut in it, dark with grime and smoke, then I feel a vibration, there are two heavy grey power cables plugged into the wall, I unplug them, expecting the vibration to subside but it grows louder, it is on both side of me now, I am not sure what to compare it to, as it is a sound Ive never hear or felt before, a low frquency vibrartion with subharmonics that shakes your bones..it grow more and more intense until it becomes alarming, I get scared, and try to wake wife, sleeping next to me, Im waving my arm next to me on the right to wake her, then I wake and Im in the wrong room, the vibration is still going strong, I ‘sail’ out of the bed past the foot of the bed through the air, and Im looking to my right towards the source of that vibration and I call out I can see it! I see a short fat man in a tunic, his head is very round, his body is very round, but there only an outline of him he is transparent, not quite solid… only to realize I was sleeping in THAT dream, I awaken in my this world bed, the dog is next to me, my wife is next to me.. and I get up to type this before I lose this memory from dream world,
My first OBE was a couple months ago, and I have them every so often now, but I’m still unsure how to talk full advantage/control of them. My first one was painless and started with the feeling of somebody grabbing my feet at the end of my bed. I this happens many times before but I would power out of it and wake up, this time I decided not to. I ended up sitting up in my bed and had a strange feeling. Not a bad feeling, just a oddly calm feeling I had never felt in my life. Everything had a blue tinge, kind of like I had on sun glasses with a blue lends. I got up a saw myself laying in my bed, and that’s when I knew I was having an OBE. I ended up flying for what felt like 5 mins and heard a mans voice say “welcome”. Immediately after I returned to my bed and woke up peacefully.
I just woke up now from a near experience that I didn’t know was happening. When my OBE are about to happen I usualy feel paralyzed, but this time I had MAJOR vibrations and started to panic. The vibrations became pretty painful. When I woke up I searched up what vibrations meant and it brought me to this page. Next time this happens I’ll try following these steps.
If anyone has felt the same, I’d like to talk about this somemore and find out more about OBEs
I experienced my first OBE last night, very very weird feeling.
For about 2 hours prior to going to bed I was watching youtube videos on miracles, angels etc, finally I decided to go to bed.
I can honestly say that when I had my OBE I was not asleep in any sense of the word. I got comfortable and relaxed then closed my eyes. I was aware of everything.
This all happened within a matter of minutes when I suddenly felt a huge vibration sounds/movements throughout my whole body. I wasn’t frightened nor did I try to stop what was happening.
Once my whole body was vibrating it went sky rocketing up through the air at a speed that I cannot comprehend…it was that fast. I could see that I was leaving earth.
Within a couple of minutes I suddenly shot back down into my body. At that point I opened my eyes and looked around and thought that was really bizarre. Like I said I was not anywhere near sleep.
I then closed my eyes again and within minutes my body began to vibrate for a second time and once the vibration completely enveloped my whole body it again took off straight up at tremdous speeds through the air.
This time however I felt as though I reached another plane because I began wandering around the area I was in, the next thing I remember I was on a bus. I saw other people there but no one was speaking. Before I knew it I became aware that I was back in my body fully still awake wondering what the heck just happened.
I know this all sounds really weird, I did not have sleep paralysis and I was not asleep at any time this was happening. It was quick and it was definitely real.
I was taking an afternoon nap. I haven’t been sleeping soundly. I remember being in this really serene place and being happy that my Aunt Cakes was coming to visit. She was going to teach me how to garden. Then the vibration started. It was like a force moving through my body. It hurt like a really bad headache/bodyache. I remember opening my mouth and looking up in hopes of letting this energy out. Then I woke up. My body has a dull tingling ot I could be anxious about the whole thing It all felt like a dream but not really. As I came to I remembered my Aunt Cakes has been dead for a while now and I dont think she was into gardening. I googled and came here. I still feel weird. It’s only been about 20 minutes. I don’t try for OBE so this is new.
I dont know whats happening, but maybe someone can shed some light. I listen to alot of meditative and mantra to relax. I recently heard a loud pop in my head that startled me, i felt like i was about to see something important, but it was blocked from my view. About a year ago, i was listening to “Oh So Hum” during my 15 min work break. I was relaxed and my eyes closed. All of a sudden friendly face – angelic looking came rushing directly at me. It startled me so much i jumped to protect myself from the impact. I would like to experience completely whatever is happening. Does anyone know?
I’m only 16 and this whole experience started a couple months ago and I hate it. I just now searched up my symptoms because honestly I get scared to go to sleep every night because I didn’t know why I would vibrate furiously. I honestly thought it was a demon trying to control my body as bizarre as that sounds. The part I’m confused about is why do I have scary nightmares during this? I used to dream a lot of nightmares when I was younger and in my teen years I wouldn’t dream at all. Once the vibrations started the nightmares began again and it terrifies me because I don’t dream of clowns and puppets I dream really evil dreams that when I wake up I still remember and want to cry. Right now I got so scared because as I was laying down in bed vibrating I was having a nightmare at the same time and I was there pleading to wake up and stop vibrating. I don’t want an out of body experience I just want to sleep peacefully like I used to. If there is some sort of treatment please let me know because I honestly hate this so much I want it to stop. Thank you so much.
So I’ve been having trouble sleeping at night recently in effect of different events happening to me all at once. Tonight I was able to fall asleep but started to have some evil dream and next thing I knew some spirit woman was running at me about to attack me. I felt very very strong vibrations in the last few seconds of my dream and I hate the feeling so I tried waking up. I can’t explain or describe how the entire feeling was but as best as I can, it was scary and uncomfortable. The last thing I felt as trying to wake up was my head quickly look upward and turn to the side uncontrollably like someone grabbed it and pushed it over so they could see my neck. Then I opened my eyes and my head turned back to the other side. I felt huge vibrations stronger than I did in my dream and it wouldn’t stop. I couldn’t move either I was just laying there, sweating, staring around my room in the dark and I thought I saw a figure across the room. It felt like something was trying to possess me as I was asleep and vulnerable. I couldn’t speak and was freaked out so in my head I said “Get out of my body” and the vibrations slowly turned into a pins and needles feeling down in my legs and toes only, then it slowly faded away and I still couldn’t move for about one minute. I don’t want to have an O.B.E I want to sleep I’m also scared to go to sleep and have it happen again :( I’ve had a history of sleep deprivation but thought my body got through all that and now I’m having this happen. And when I try to move my body, it feels like every single muscle and limb in my whole body is sore and it feels like I haven’t used a single muscle for a whole week. It feels as if I’ve just been laying in bed forever and not using my body and makes me feel major fatigue and almost like growing pains at the same time. Please help.
Katrina – during lucid dreaming to stop nightmares just say a prayer, or say to “go away” – it will stop
Can somebody help me. I always dreamt of me leaving my body when dreaming. It would start with a vibration then When I move my hands i can see that my real hand is left on the bed and i could see my face too. It is so scary that i do not want to move further as I am afraid that i wont be able to get back to my physical body. Whenever i attempt to go back to sleep so I would wake up, I fail. When I move and thought that I was already awake, I can still see my spirit upper body not in line with my upper physical body. With this I am stuck in my dream and couldn’t wake up. Whenever this happens, i panicked and dont know how to wake up myself.
I am wide awake after experiencing a weight of what felt like a person sitting behind me in bed and then heard fluttering or a buzzing noise. I tried to talk but couldn’t. Woke up scared to death and afraid to go back to sleep.
i also felt obes several times while sleeping…. it was fun initially but one night in sleep i felt very intense vibrations in belly button ,and it was much like i am a bulb throwing light everywhere but i was unable to see me …. but i was able to see outside … there was illuminated space all around me but to a certain distance….. vibrations were so intense that i couldn’t handle …. and i don’t know how i woke up ….is this normal?.. i often feel obes not intentionally … they come automatically …..
After reading this and this is why I was googling… I was teying to get answers. I get the vibrations, amd they are so loud in my ears, like fluid. Amd I can always feel it in my back. I always wake up feeling like I have something wrong with my kidneys. I get these during napping or anutime I lay on my back to sleep, never when I sleep on my side. I go yhrough this all the time. I was actually getting scared so I googled my symptoms and everything goes to OBE. I am officially creeped out.
Last night I thought I woke up and I was levitating in my bed with my blankets dangling below me. I saw myself on the bed and than I was instantly laying back down. It felt like I was awake but every time I closed my eyes I would feel electricity pumping through my body. I would then open my eyes and it would go away. I really though I was awake during this. Finally, after about 6 times of closing my eyes and feeling that vibration/electricity feeling, I woke up into real consciousness, feeling a lot of anxiety and confusion. I was wondering If I was about to have an out of body experience. I just couldn’t keep my eyes closed in my dream to see where it would take me, because the feeling I was feeling was so intense and I was frankly scared. Was this the beginning of a lucid dream? I have never had one before and I am 39
I think I almost OBE last night. I went to bed around 11 pm and kept my mind awake by doing the rope technique. At first I was swept by a wave, my body was feeling tired and so was my mind, but I kept doing the rope technique and then suddenly for a while my mind totally cleared up and I wasn’t even feeling tired. It was weird at first, I never actually stayed awake this long. Then suddenly buzzing sounds were loud in my ears and my body felt like it was buzzing. It happened so suddenly that I got scared and thought I was going to have sleep paralysis, so I open my eyes and my visions were blurry, it was 12am. I think I’m not going to try it again for a while..
Can anybody please tell me how to make this feeling stop.. I’ve had SP for 7 years and more recently a couple small OBE’s I think? I can feel myself moving/sitting up or on one occasion even rolling out of my bed.. but then wake up in exactly the same position. I can also hear my own voice and think I’m yelling but every time I ask anyone in the house if they happened to hear me, they said no.
Today I was taking a nap while watching TV, and for the first time ever felt this very strong vibration mostly stemming from my back but radiating around my whole body. I was immediately terrified beyond words as I thought I was having a seizure during my paralysis.
I’ve had sensations of being touched during SP before but this time literally felt like I was being shaken.
I felt myself attempting to move and fight it but woke up a minute later in the same position. I attempted to shrug it off and get back to sleep but the feeling repeated itself, more intensely. And I felt like something was “spooning” me (yeah thanks for the cuddle SP) from behind. I attempted to yell STOP IT over and over again. And eventually got out of it.
I just woke up 20 minutes ago to this same exact thing repeating itself
I’m not going to lie, I hate it. I don’t want an OBE. Sleep paralysis terrifies me to the point where I’ve been sleeping with my head under the blanket since I was about 14. I’m 21 now and it only seems to be getting worse.
Any tips for making this stop? The method that works best to calm me is to “sing” a peaceful or happy song in my own head but man I’m terrified to go back to sleep right now..

Stumbled on your post after a similar nightmare plus late night googling. This experience has happened in my life about three or four times. Each time I was sleeping on my back with my mouth slightly ajar, causing small vibrations that are barely perceptible when awake. When my jaw is at a certain position while lying down the muscles there twitch/vibrate continuously. Try avoiding those conditions, maybe sleep on your side or keep your moth closed. Best wishes
@ Ella
Your experience is very similar to mine! In fact everything you wrote feels like it was written by me! I had a similar experience where one night when I wasn’t trying to do anything, I “dreamt” I was in the CBD of my city but there was no one in the entire planet! No people, no cars and not a single sound of anything! Just silence! After experiencing that amazing silince I felt there was nothing to do here with everyone gone so I felt myself shooting up like a skyrocket to outer space where I saw many “globes” or spheres of light and I was heading to this particular one. And it felts so real as I could feel the wind blowing on my shoulders as I flew in an insane speed towards this moonlike “star”! As I was getting closer I realized that my life was never going to be the same after going through this white light and I felt like there was a moment of choice between continuing with my drama, my illusions or end it and the fear of ending my dramas that I experience saw me back in my body in an instant! That has been my biggest regret in life ever since! Especially after reading in the Power of Now that Eckhart Tolle became enlightened through a similar experience!
Never had an OBE before yesterday, but am a consistent natural Lucid dreamer. Read this, and had 5 consecutive OBE’s (waking up then going back in) last night, using this advice to great effect. Never 3ven tried before, but this page catapulted me straight in! I’m thoroughly impressed.
I tried lucid dreaming through a You Tube guided meditation. As my body started to relax a bolt of energy ran through my entire body and it freaked me out at first. I continued to relax and follow the instructions, I know that I was falling into a deep relaxed state, and then another vibration (jolt) hit me again, but I wasn’t afraid this time. I then found myself in a dream state. I woke up when I heard my alarm go off. The experience at first was a bit scary, and enlightening.
I had an experience where my body was vibrating while i was going back to sleep – i wasn’t trying to do this – i knew to relax. What happened next is what i need someone to help me with. Once i relaxed i saw a deep yellow orb coming toward me and it entered into my hand which was facing upward. Does anyone know what that was?
I’ve been working on breathing techniques every night for about 2 weeks now. Last night I got to the vibration stage and they were very powerful, almost distracting. I kept trying to focus on leaving my body, without letting the vibrations stop. I was able to pull myself up by imagining a rope hanging from the sky and my legs were stuck. As soon as I left my body, I fell asleep. I’m working on OBE’s but I keep falling asleep at the critical moments. I was low on sleep. Perhaps I should try during a nap or when I’m not so tired.
Well I had, a episode for the first about two months ago, I went into it with slow breathing and no thought. And all I could remember was everything was white, basically like looking at a blank space but the sounds and vibrations where outta this world, I can’t describe it all that well it was intense and I was honestly scared, they kept rising and rising I felt like I was gonna explode, then I woke up.
Then as of recent I have been trying it again. But this time I woke up to my room, it was very different from how it usually is more gloomy with a few lights in different spots like if you seen everything in night vision kinda green kinda black. So anyways I was instantly aware of these vibrations around my body( not as bad as the other times) but I kept in mind about the slow deep breaths and it only got worse. I could see my body all I knew was I was standing and I couldn’t really focus my eyes then everything went black and I woke up. Then I did it again last night but it was different in some ways, I felt paralyzed but not too scared, I did a push up method and was up and I could kinda see but still everything was in like night vision its kinda cool. Anyways still felt the vibrations but this time they went from my body to my brain and I could literally feel my brain vibrate, I was like of course I’m not having a O.B.E I am having a stroke (lol) but it went away and I thought well hell mind as well walk around the house. I felt drunk but lucid, I checked out the kitchen which I was only focused on the floor tried the light switch hand went through that, I got frustrated and was like nah don’t need the light. Then I was trying to hover and did so for about 2 seconds then boom woke up for work. Felt really well rested though. I am no expert but I do like to explore these areas. Also don’t mind my writing or grammar as I usually don’t care for punctuation and all that jazz
Okay i can’t say i relate to what a lot of these people are saying but heres how it goes for me-
Mine happens after i’ve already been asleep for a while. It’s always middle of the night or early morning and there is a clear pattern of it happening when I am laying completely flat; no pillow. It takes me a while to recognise what is happening. I notice this vibration/hum for a while before REALIZING what is happening and when I realize it, I wake right up/jump out of it. When I become aware, it’s as if im humming like a monk. Its this completely steady hum/vibration feeling that I feel in my body, not my limbs, and not so much my head aside from a faint vibration but it is strong in my lower throat and chest. Its crazy. If I were to try this awake, I eventually run out of juice to keep the hum going. But that’s not the case when I am asleep. Lately I have been soul searching learning about ASTRAL/ancient meditation techniques, original religious texts from Sumer/hermetacism/chakras. Stuff like that. BUT i’ve experienced what I described above MANY times well before any of this new learning. As i said, it’s when I’m completely flat, face up, face down, doesn’t matter as long as I’m flat. I mostly sleep propped up with a pillow but ya when the moments i don’t thats what happens.. Is it just sleep apnea or something? Idk it’s not a if I feel like I’m struggling to breath or anything. It happened this morning and I finally decided to look it up. My email is zachbryant618@gmail.com if anyone wouldn’t mind sending me an email. Ill check here too. Thanks
1st time vibration dream happened to me 3 nights ago. Felt just like the article says like holding a chainsaw but whole body. Then i focused on the vibration and felt myself shift out of my body at a 45 degree angle and i saw two indigo orbs at that shifting moment. after that i was peering into what seemed like a very small tv and saw a group of people at a distance. i wanted to know who they were so i focused harder got closer then they all fell down in a circle like something hit them.
Once I was sleeping and my dream stopped, it was like I opened my eyes and the vibrations started when it went black again. I opened my eyes and it stopped and they started when it was dark again. It happened 3 times and then I started getting up but out of my control it was fucking scary and I tried to scream but I woke up.
I am having these vibrations and noises in my ear (left side only)for months now and quite frankly I’m not too interested in an OBE. does anyone know how to stop them from occuring??
Ken,
I have the same. For me it developed after I used binaural beats. I don’t want these symptoms in my life. I am on antipsychotic to fall into sleep. Continous beeping in me head / ears exists. The antipsychotic I take is Levomepromazine 12.5 mg in the evening.
Someone else put something like this on the Internet:

Did you manage to solve your problems?
My best!
I was studying OBE last night but didn’t look into how to achieve it. Last night when I went to sleep it was all I could think about and maybe this played a factor into what ended up happening to me.
I knew I wasn’t in a dream but it felt like a dream like state. I left my body and was floating just above the floor facing my right wall in my room. These vibrations started to occur in my head, specifically the right side of my head. It was almost paralyzing the intensity was soo great that my only reaction was to scream/yell. I wasn’t yelling in my physical form but rather it what ever state I was currently in at that time. Almost like yelling with your mouth open but it yelling occurring in your head. It felt as if something had a hold of me stemming from vibrations and frequencies intensifying in my head.
It was very scary for me to say the least and very supernatural. I couldn’t escape the hold and I was screaming it’s almost as if it hurt but I can’t explain it. It didn’t feel like any sort of physical pain but definitely a pain of some sorts. I could look to my left and to my right as well knowing full aware that I was in my room at night. Again this didn’t feel like a dream at all it felt as if I was alive and awake but in a different state/from.
The vibrations finally started to slow down and when they did it felt like I was traveling trough a portal as the vibrations were slowly calming down. It felt like I was traveling through another dimension of some sorts until I re-entered my body. Imagine slowly declining vibrations coming from a peak point of uncomfortable painful vibrations. When I re-entered my body I instantly woke up and could still feel my head buzzing but it felt a lot more calm and almost refreshing because just seconds prior I was in a horrific almost inescapable state of intense vibrations stemming from my head.
So I felt relieved but was shaken by the experience. I could also feel the after vibrations throughout my body when I woke up. I was freaked out but knew I needed to fall back asleep. So I did, then this happened….
I thought I woke up again in the middle of the night but little did I know that I was slowing leaving my body again. The vibrations started coming in again but not as intense as before. Again I thought I was physically awake. I went to reach for my phone to check the time. My phone was sitting right next to my bed on the night stand. When I tried to grab my phone. Boom! It felt like I was almost struck by lightning and I felt myself traveling through that portal state again but this time the duration of the portal feel was shorter than before. Zap! I woke up and was even more freaked out cause I thought I was awake and again I felt this after buzzing in my head again.
After I fell asleep it subtly happening again but then it turned into a nightmare of some sorts and it was nothing short of one of the most horrific experience in my entire life.
I never intended to achieve an OBE state but it happened after reading about it prior to me going to bed.
I’m honestly fascinated by this all and am looking forward to achieving this stage again but now understanding the meaning of each phase I think I have the opportunity to grasp how to control it and take full advantage of the state.
Even thought this was my most horrific life experience I’m looking forward to embracing it next time.
But yeah if you want to discuss at all, here is my burner email, thegoat7709@gmail.com
